| The premier smart metering conference for the Central and Eastern European region that took place on 7-8 April in Warsaw was a great success again.
• Benefit from real experiences by hearing case studies on multi-utility metering, standardization and interoperability from leading industry players • Understand the latest regulatory developments and their implications for the energy industry in Central and Eastern Europe • Learn how the smart metering initiatives will change the way utilities conduct business • Gain awareness of the benefits of demand response programmes • Debate the key issues around smart grid and contribute to the debate by posing your questions at the discussion sessions • Meet with key utility industry leaders, regulators, consultants, vendors and related associations | The conference programme incorporated a special focus day on the 7th of April dedicated to metering regulatory framework in CEE and specific real life multi-utility experiences presented by leading utilities such as RheinEnergy, Alliander, Delta, PWN and RWE.
Delegates could review the day during the surprise dinner evening function offered to you by T-Matic Systems. All delegates were invited to join us for an informal dinner and drinks at a special venue.
On the second day regional utilities representatives presented their latest developments in meter roll-out. Delegates were updated on the experiences of Linz AG and heard more recent updates from the Polish market presented by PGE Dystrybucja Lódz sp. z.o.o., Energa Operator and Vattenfal Distribution Poland.
The conference was closed off with a future view on Smart Grids. Utilities are investigating the possibilities regarding smart grids and discuss the benefits; however there are still uncertainties for them to deal with. Regulatory issues are not clear yet and the technology is still evolving. Although it looks like smart grids will be more stable, it is not quite clear whether the investments will show a return.
